End of an Era and New Beginning

Lou Minutello, the second generation owner / operator of Minutello’s restaurant in East Liberty in Pittsburgh is closing his iconic Italian restaurant on February 17 of this year.

For over 50 years the Minutello family has offered home-style and authentic Italian fare to legions of Pittsburgher.

Minutello has been contemplating the move for several years and most recently the opportunity to sell and get involved in a new venture was too good to pass up. “It’s been a great run for me and my family Minutello says, but if you can’t invigorate our old brand you got to make bold changes and that’s what I’m doing”. “My customers from all over Pittsburgh have been so loyal for so long”…he continued.

As for the future, Minutello has partnered with several local businessmen and investors to re-launch the Italian Oven brand. The new version the Italian Oven will open in March in a Walnut Capital development called Orchard Park Plaza on Rte. 8 in Richland Township.
